| Meppershall
P3 Group The P3 Group (Parish Paths Partnership) is a partnership
between Bedfordshire County Council who are responsible for footpaths
and residents of the Parish. Group members walk the footpaths of
a Parish on a regular basis to ensure they are kept open for all. The
work of Bedfordshire P3 groups has now expanded into other environmental
areas and in Meppershall are involved with the Old Road Meadow project.

| Meppershall Parish Council The Parish Council are the precepting authority
for the Parish through Council Tax. Each year the Council is providing
a major contribution to the costs of the project.

| Ivel & Ouse Valley Countryside Project Ivel and Ouse Valley Countryside Project are managing
this project on behalf of all parties to ensure that expert assistance
is always on hand throughout the current development and into the future
maintenance and upkeep of the Meadow. Their work extends throughout
the area on many environmental and wildlife activities as can be seen

| Ivel Valley Conservation Volunteers This group of volunteers provide much needed labour
to assist in the work of the Ivel & Ouse Valley Countryside Project.
They have been involved in the Old Road Meadow project from the

The Tree Council
The Tree Council have provided a grant towards the
cost of establishing two copses on the Meadow as part of National Tree Week
2003.
The Tree Council’s aims are: To improve the environment in town and country by promoting the planting and conservation of trees and woods throughout the United Kingdom; To disseminate knowledge about trees and their management; To act as a forum for organisations concerned with trees, to identify national problems and to provide initiatives for co-operation. Meppershall Lower School
The Old Road Meadow project is very pleased to have the involvement
of the Year 4 pupils at Meppershall Lower School. Last years group
greatly assisted in the production of the Revised Development Plan currently
in force. This years group helped in planting 150 trees in the first
of the community copses. |
