Report from the Trustees of Meppershall Village Hall June 2018

During a visit on 8th June we saw a great deal of progress had been made. Most of the rooms have had the doors fitted and the walls are plastered with radiators connected and tested. Above your head in the Main Hall you can see the ducting of the ventilation system which will eventually be hidden behind the ceiling, next week the installation of the wiring for the sound and lighting will commence. This advanced system will allow the Players to put on their fantastic productions where the lighting will be controlled from the new production gallery at the rear of the hall above the doors. It will also allow other activities that require access to sound and projection facilities to connect at ground level to the new system.
The Trustees have been very fortunate to access a grant from the European Regional Development Fund to employ an Interior Designer who is also the Senior Lecturer at Luton University, Dawn Hesketh-Joslin. Dawn will be assisting the Trustees on the final design for the Social and Cafe area as well as the Games room. We then hope to employ a couple of Interns to implement the design and commence the marketing of the new facilities for various events, sports and weddings. We are very grateful to Rachel Perry from the Innovation and Enterprise Service at the University of Bedfordshire for her assistance and advice on gaining grants for the benefit of the residents of Meppershall. If you run a business from Meppershall, please contact Rachel via as her team would love to help other businesses grow as well
